methamphetamine is available with different names such as glass or crystal and its action mechanism is by releasing monoamines such as dopamine, serotonin and nor epinephrine. methamphetamine is a sympathomimetic amine with stimulating, euphoric and hallucinating effects. it has been made in 1983 for the first time in order to treat asthma and nasal congestion. it is the second highly abused substance after cannabis worldwide. it is abused in different forms of smoking, injection or oral take. according to the abusers reports, it causes euphoria and reduces fatigue. its side effects include headache, difficulty in concentration, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, vomiting or diarrhea, sleep disorders, paranoid or aggressive behaviors and psychosis. this article reviews various physical side effects of methamphetamine abuse.
